Coverage

Internet providers by state and city

Every state, its biggest cities and 31,409 ZIP codes, from the providers’ own FCC filings. Pick a state for the overview, or search a ZIP for the providers filed at your door.

How coverage really works

Neighbors can get different answers.

Providers file where they serve, location by location, and we total those filings for each ZIP. That shows who reaches part of the area and how much of it; the provider confirms your address when you order.

How this coverage data works

Every state, city and ZIP page is built from the FCC Broadband Data Collection, the federal record of where providers report offering residential service. We show which providers serve each market, the technologies they use and the fastest speeds on file. Availability is decided street by street, so the ZIP search is the fastest way to see what reaches your home.

Filed is not built

Fiber is on file in 86% of U.S. ZIP codes, but the median fiber filing reaches 15.8% of its ZIP. Our study measures the gap, state by state.

Coverage data: FCC Broadband Data Collection (December 2024) — broadbandmap.fcc.gov. Availability is address-specific within each ZIP code. Satellite internet is sold nationwide, but each install has to qualify on site — a clear view of the sky and a place to mount the dish.
